David’s Work on House and Joint Committees
Committees are where much of the work of the state legislature takes place, from holding hearings to drafting legislation. David has been assigned as a member of four committees, each of which handles specifically defined subject matters.

Member - Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities
David was a member of the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities, which considers all matters concerning child welfare, juvenile justice, public welfare, and children and adults with physical, developmental or intellectual disabilities. It is also the Committee’s responsibility to oversee the Departments of Children and Families, Developmental Services, Transitional Assistance and Youth Services; the Massachusetts Commissions for the Blind, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing; and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.

Member - Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure
David is a member of the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, which considers all matters concerning consumer credit, consumer protection, the issuance of licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages, and the registration of various trades or professions.

Member - Housing
David is a member of the Joint Committee on Housing, which considers all matters concerning Chapter 40B housing, housing generally, subdivision control, and condominium laws.
