It’s always good to get involved in your town–to address local issues, to engage in opportunities in your area, and to be part of a rich community of neighbors. From filing complaints to canvassing for votes to workshopping areas for growth, there are countless ways to immerse yourself in local politics.
There are some issues that are addressed at the municipal level instead of by state legislative offices like ours. These include:

Municipal Resources for Leicester
Select Board: The Select Board is elected as the executive body for the Town of Leicester. They appoint members of town boards and committees, budget and set fiscal guidelines, enforce regulations, issue and renew licensing, and hold public hearings and town meetings to serve the town’s interest and welfare. Select board meetings occur on the first and third Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Conference Room at 3 Washburn Square in Leicester, and are broadcasted live on LCAC Channel 191.
Leicester is one of many towns in New England that has an open town meeting form of government, where citizens can become informed about and vote on pressing issues. Town meetings occur roughly twice per year.
Leicester offers many other opportunities to get involved. They provide a town calendar for all local meetings and a running registry of meeting minutes for you to learn more about local happenings in the community.
Town Administrator's Office: Like a City Manager, the Town Administrator is at the core of the administrative workings in the community. They act on the behalf of the Select Board, ensuring laws and regulations are adhered to. They oversee the budget, implement policies passed by legislators, and further public works projects.
