David’s Amendments
David works hard to make sure the annual budget for the Commonwealth contains provisions and appropriations that serve the needs of the 17th Worcester District. He prioritizes these projects based on constituent feedback and the partnerships he creates with organizations doing meaningful work in the district. Read below to learn more about David’s proposals that were passed into the 2020-2025 Massachusetts State Budgets.

$50,000 for the Main South Community Development Corporation (CDC) to run programming in Worcester’s Main South and Beacon Brightly neighborhoods.
$250,000 for social workers and rehabilitation, orientation, and mobility instructors at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind.
$15,000 for youth swimming lessons as part of a summer program for low-income children to be offered by the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
$30,000 for senior medical rides and veteran outreach provided by Deja New, the Leicester Council on Aging, and Project New Hope.
$200,000 for College Navigator services, which help students with disabilities in the Commonwealth prepare for and complete higher education degrees.
$50,000 to the local Latin American Business Organization (LABO) to support small businesses and assist with supplier diversity certification.

$100,000 to fund a water and sewer economic infrastructure feasibility study and master plan in Leicester.
